4. WordPress 7.1.4 closes security gaps
WordPress released version 7.1.4 on October 28 as a short-cycle security update. The project recommends updating immediately, either through the dashboard or by downloading the release. One disclosed fix addresses a weakness in the upgrade process that could allow remote code execution during the upgrade window. Sites with automatic background updates should begin receiving it automatically. WordPress 7.2 remains planned for December 8, so 7.1.4 is a security release rather than the next major feature version. Source: WordPress
